Promotion begins after the Start button—not before it
A paid campaign can create attention, but it cannot repair an unclear bot. Before spending, open the bot from a clean account and time how long it takes to understand the promise, complete the first useful action and discover a reason to return. If the user encounters a channel wall, unexplained balance or long menu before seeing value, more traffic will mainly buy more exits.
Write one acquisition proposition for one audience. “Earn GRAM for qualified referrals,” “launch a faucet campaign,” and “manage a community” are different promises. A broad ad may generate inexpensive starts while attracting people who never wanted the product. The landing message, start payload and first bot response should all describe the same job.
Choose the paid channel by what it actually delivers
Do not compare CPM, post price and cost per confirmed start as though they were the same product. Translate every channel into cost per verified bot start, then into cost per activated and retained user. Telegram Ads can be excellent reach; creator placements can communicate trust; a cross-promotion network can supply a fast test cohort. Their useful roles are different.
| Channel | Typical purchase unit | Best use | Main measurement risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mini Empire Promote | Unique discovery, click or confirmed start depending on destination verification | A low-cost first cohort inside a Telegram product network | Confusing a first arrival with a retained user |
| Telegram Ads | Sponsored-message impressions priced by CPM | Controlled reach to Telegram audiences and destinations | Paying for exposure without measuring the downstream start |
| Channel placement | A post, view guarantee or timed placement | Context, social proof and a richer product explanation | Unclear attribution or recycled audience |
| Suggested post | A channel partnership funded in Stars or Toncoin | Native creator distribution with agreed timing | Judging a post by views instead of qualified starts |
| Affiliate or referral program | Commission after a defined event or purchase | Performance-led growth with aligned partners | Rewarding a weak or easily farmed event |
How Mini Empire Promote delivers a campaign
- Choose the destination
Select a Mini Empire bot or Mini App, or register an external Telegram bot or Mini App.
- Set the campaign size
Use a preset beginning at 100 users for $3 or enter a custom quantity supported by the checkout.
- Show the sponsored destination
The project appears in a sponsored discovery slot inside eligible free Mini Empire products.
- Route each interested account
The button records the campaign and unique Telegram viewer before opening the native t.me destination.
- Confirm the strongest available event
Mini Empire projects confirm the attributable first start; external projects with a supplied bot token can confirm the start through Telegram; external destinations without a token can only confirm the unique click.
- Update progress once
A campaign-user pair is unique, so reopening the same promotion does not create another delivery. The owner can review progress and pause or resume the campaign.
What “real user” means—and what it does not mean
In paid Telegram promotion, “real” should describe an observable human account event, not a vague promise of future engagement. For an internal Mini Empire destination, the campaign click remains pending until the account actually enters the destination as a new user. For an external bot that provides a verification token, Telegram can confirm that the account started the bot. The same account cannot be charged twice within one campaign.
That proof does not guarantee that the person will return, complete a task, make a purchase, watch an ad or refer a friend. Those are later funnel events controlled by the offer and product. An external campaign without a verification token has a weaker proof level: a unique click to the Telegram destination. Call it click-verified traffic, not a confirmed start.
| Reported event | What is proven | What is not proven |
|---|---|---|
| Unique click | One Telegram account used the campaign route once | Bot start, activation or retention |
| Confirmed start | The routed account opened or started the destination | Useful action or return visit |
| Activated user | The account completed the product’s first value event | Long-term retention or revenue |
| Retained user | The account returned in the selected time window | Profitability unless revenue and cost are also measured |
Build a campaign link that preserves attribution
Telegram bot deep links can carry a start parameter. Use a different payload for each acquisition source, creative or partner so the bot can preserve where a user came from. Mini Empire Promote can keep an optional referral payload for an internal destination, allowing a promoted arrival to enter the correct referral or campaign path.
Keep the payload meaningful to the backend but short and opaque to the user. Never place secrets, wallet keys or personal information in it. Record the source once, then report the full funnel by original cohort even after the user returns through the normal bot link.
- One source or creative per start payload
- No credentials or personal data in the URL
- A first-session event that confirms activation
- A return event measured after 24 hours and seven days
- Revenue and reward cost attached to the original cohort
- A control cohort before increasing the budget
Run the first paid test in three stages
- Quality check with 10–25 invited testers
Fix broken buttons, unclear rewards, slow responses and missing support before any paid campaign.
- Acquisition test with 100 users
Use one proposition and one first-session path. The $3 Mini Empire preset is small enough to expose conversion problems without pretending it proves scale.
- Retention test before scaling
Wait for the return window, calculate activated and retained cost, then improve the weakest step before buying a larger cohort.
Cost per retained user = total campaign cost ÷ users who return in the defined retention windowThe dashboard you need before buying more traffic
| Metric | Question answered | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmed starts | Did distribution reach the destination? | Audit delivery and campaign setup |
| Activation rate | Did the first session communicate value? | Simplify onboarding or strengthen the promise |
| Day-1 and day-7 return | Was there a reason to come back? | Improve the loop before scaling |
| Qualified referral rate | Did users bring relevant people? | Adjust qualification and rewards |
| Contribution per user | Did ads, purchases or other value cover variable costs? | Set the maximum viable acquisition price |
| Abuse and support rate | Did growth create hidden operating cost? | Add controls or narrow targeting |
Common questions
What is the fastest way to promote a Telegram bot?
Use a small paid cohort after the first-session flow works. Mini Empire Promote begins with 100 users for $3; Telegram Ads and relevant channel placements are additional options when you need targeting or richer context.
Can I promote a Telegram bot without a channel?
Yes. A bot can be promoted through a direct t.me link, Telegram Ads, cross-promotion, creator placements or referral links. A channel is useful for content and trust but is not technically required.
Does buying promotion guarantee active users?
No. Ethical promotion can guarantee only its defined delivery event, such as a unique click or confirmed start. Activation, retention and purchases depend on the product.
How do I know promoted users are not duplicate accounts?
Mini Empire records one delivery per campaign and Telegram account. Internal projects and token-verified external bots require a confirmed start before the delivery count increases.
Should I use Telegram Ads or Mini Empire Promote?
Use Telegram Ads when you want impression-based reach and Telegram targeting. Use Mini Empire Promote when you want a small in-product Telegram cohort with a defined delivery counter. Many operators test the proposition cheaply, then scale through several channels.
